NBDE Review Questions: Quiz 166 October 10, 2015 by Hassan Shah 1 Comment How should a vital second permanent molar with a 2.0-mm exposure on a 12-year-old patient be treated? A. Apexification B. Direct pulp capping C. Indirect pulp capping D. Extract E. Apexogenesis Δ
Zahir Ijaimi says
E (Apexogenesis) is the right answer not apexification, coz from the pt age (12) years, the tooth has just erupted and roots are still developing. It is known that root completion for permanant teeth is 2 years after eruption. This tooth is said to be vital.
Apexification is done for non-vital/necrotic teeth.
